Little JMG courtesy of our Inspector

One of our inspectors from Cranes Aerial Truck Service sent over this picture of an electric mini JMG. With such intense heat outside, he must have appreciated not needing to climb all over this piece of equipment for the annual third party inspection! Stay cool!

Heat Stress Signs & Symptoms

sun

This week promises to be a hot one in New England. For those of you working outside, please take caution and review the signs and symptoms of heat stress. It is important to stay hydrated through out the day, to take frequent breaks, and wear light clothing when possible. If it is possible, try and schedule any outside work to be done in the shade, especially from mid-morning to late-afternoon when the sun is at its highest point.

The intense heat can cause illness, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. These can all become critical is not taken care of immediately. Below, please find a copy of OSHA’s Quick Card to protect from heat stress. This is a great reference tool for any one working outside to keep with them. You might even be able to detect a fellow worker who is showing symptoms and get them the help they need.

As we enter the middle of summer, it’s important to remember that safety always comes first. And when it comes to heat, making a few adjustments might just protect you and those you work with. Be safe.
