We at Cranes101 value safety above all else, but we understand that the cost of training can, at times, be a burden to employers. That is why we have made a progressive effort to supply grant information to those who want to remain safe on the job, but may need help financing the process.

We will work with you on writing your application, submitting it to your state contact, and structuring your own safety plan that works best for you and your budget. You could get funding from your government and stay safe. What's to lose?

Connecticut

THE INCUMBENT WORKER TRAINING PROGRAM
Training grants are available to help companies grow and maintain competitiveness by investing in training of their existing workforce.

A Business Services Consultant will work directly with a company to design, develop, and provide funding for projects and can help businesses locate appropriate training providers.

Maine

The Maine Apprenticeship Program (MAP) is a formal, industry-led, nationally-recognized, workforce training program for employees.

The program provides in-house skill development through structured on-the-job learning supplemented with technical and theoretical course work.

Massachusetts

Grant funds are limited to $3,000 per employee per course and $30,000 per company per calendar year. A company whose request has been approved will be reimbursed for up to 50% of the actual cost of training.

Courses (such as OSHA) that a company is legally mandated to provide to its employees are not eligible for reimbursement under this grant program. You may only request reimbursement for training individuals who are on your company’s payroll and work in Massachusetts.

New Hampshire

The minimum grant allowed is $750. The maximum grant that can be requested is $100,000.

Any grant award of $70,000 or more has to be approved by the Governor and Executive Council.

This will add at least one month to the process before training can begin.

New Jersey

New Jersey training grant funds are available to New Jersey employers to upgrade the skills of their current employees and/or train new employees, for purposes of retaining highly skilled and high wage jobs in New Jersey.

New York

As part of Governor Cuomo’s transformative plan to improve the state’s economic development model, a NYS Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) has been created that will streamline and expedite the grant application process.

The CFA process marks a fundamental shift in the way state resources are allocated, ensuring less bureaucracy and greater efficiency to fulfill local economic development needs.

Pennsylvania

Essential Skills Training Qualifications
» Employers must be manufacturing or technology businesses including Biotech and Environmental-Tech companies.
» Employers may apply for funding for any number of eligible employees up to $450 per employee and up to $75,000 total per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
» Employees must be frontline employees or first-level supervisors.
» On-the-job and orientation training do not qualify for the program.
» Funds cannot be used to address workplace adult literacy needs.

Rhode Island

The GWB Incumbent Worker Training Grant program is funded by the Job Development Fund (JDF) and provides matching grants to businesses to increase the skills of current employees and increase the competiveness and productivity of RI businesses and workers.
These Grants range from $5,000 to $40,000 in a 12-month period. Proposals may be submitted at any time and will be reviewed and awarded (if qualified) within 30 days. Training must begin within 30 days of the grant award.

Vermont

The Vermont Training Program (VTP) has been offering performance-based workforce training grants for over 30 years. The VTP provides up to 50% of the training cost for: pre-employment, new hire, and/or incumbent employee training.

Grants are paid out on a reimbursement basis upon completion of employee training.
