Mid-Autumn Updates
It’s been another exciting October for us here at Cranes101. Jack was at the NSC Expo earlier this month down in New Orleans, our first time at this event, and had an excellent time meeting all sorts of folks with the same interests in mind – making work-sites safer through proper certification and inspections. And then last week Jay, in his capacity as a member on the Z133 – Safety Requirements for Arboriculture Operations committee, attended the meeting held in Baltimore, Maryland on October 25-26. Here are his thoughts on the meeting. “What a pleasure it is to meet in person. Zoom meetings with the entire staff of anyone just can’t compare with the quality work that can be completed in person.
We discussed/argued/qualified and decided on over 300 items in 2 days. A feat that would be impossible to do with the same accuracy on a Zoom meeting. Expect substantive upgrades in every corner of the Z133 Standard.
It never ceases to amaze me how well the committee comes together on so many issues to reach the outcomes that work for the entire industry.
OSHA has standards writers in attendance for these meetings. I had the opportunity to have lunch with Acie Zachery from OSHA. We can expect to see a new OSHA standard, including some of the Z133 language references, to be coming soon.”
