You are required to have a Hoisting Engineer license to operate any hoisting equipment in Massachusetts, per the 230 CMR 6.00 law. 

License Preparation: This course is designed to prepare the attendee for successful completion of the Hoisting Engineers’ 2s restrictions license test.  Cranes101 recommends that before taking this hoisting license preparation course to be sure to apply for a test date and then schedule/ take the class closest to the test date.  The state’s exam schedule can be found here.  

When planning your license prep course attendance, please be aware that it can take 4-8 weeks to get a testing date.

Continuing Education:  Once a Hoisting License has been obtained, the holder must keep it active by participating in continuing education every 2 years.  This is a safety seminar that will earn the operator his/hers required CEUs.  These courses will allow you to renew your Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License under any 2s restriction. . Cranes101 is an approved continuing education facility (HECE-000005).
