Cranes Chronicles May 2024

Welcome to the May 2024 edition of Cranes Chronicles!

SUMMER IS HERE!

With Memorial Day behind us, summer is definitely in full swing, which means more outdoors work ahead! If you’ve been reading our Industry Resources posts, we’ve been following OSHA as it is moving slowly toward a more concrete heat standard to help protect you in soaring temperatures.

Around here at Cranes HQ, we’ve certainly been busy hosting classes here, including hi rail gear and bucket truck inspection, as well as our mobile crane certification class. One of our customers, David Roy, brought his crane to the class for practical tests. Our administrative assistant, Dee, then had the opportunity to climb in the cab! Maybe someday we’ll get her licensed. Thanks David!

Jay gave a talk at the National Safety Council of New England Conference last week, talking about how we do overhead crane inspections the digital way on our Safety Management Portal, which was received well. Jack was also there, and then he was at the 2024 Ocean State Construction & Equipment Show on May 29. He rounds out the end of the month at the Spring Membership Meeting for Steel Fabricators of New England held today, May 30.

Jay will be giving a talk at the 2024 OSHA Summit in Amherst, MA about mobile crane inspection, so click that link if you’d like to attend on June 12!

We’ve got an exciting summer planned, so stay tuned for more information in this space!
