Tower Crane Over in Bavaria

A tower crane overturned last Thursday in Neutraubling, near Regensburg, Germany, seriously injuring two tower crane erectors.
The crane, a Wolf WK 122 SL, with a counterweighted base is owned by the contractor Jager Bau, and was working on a new leisure centre in the town which was almost completed. The crane was being dismantled at the time, and the jib had just been removed when the tower overturned rearwards onto the building, with the counterweight/counter jib crashing through the roof. The two men, 24 and 31, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Italy crane collapse kills three in Turin

Three workers died after a crane collapsed across a road in Turin on Saturday (December 18).- REUTERS
The workers were working on the crane platform when the accident occurred early in the morning.
”A fourth worker is in a yellow code and two other bystanders were unfortunately involved in this accident, but fortunately they are not in a serious condition,” Turin fire brigade commander, Agatino Carollo, told Reuters.
The large blue crane toppled across a road between two six-storey buildings.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
Falling construction crane crushes pedestrian, injures 2 others

Police will call the engineer in charge of a condominium construction site in for questioning after a tall crane collapsed there on Tuesday morning, killing one person and injuring two others, in Bang Po, Samut Prakan province.
The crane fell on top of an adjacent row of rented rooms.
Pol Capt Chakthong Khaammaphol, deputy investigation chief at Bang Bo police station, said Chalerm Chanong, 48, a motorcycle taxi driver, was crushed to death.
He said two people were injured – a 22-year-old woman, Piyada Khi-inthi, and a 24-year-old man, Iem Kanthiya. Earlier, media reported that three people were injured.
Daily News Online reported that the crane, weighing 8 tonnes, was being used to lay concrete on the second floor of the planned five-storey condominium building on Rattanarat Road in tambon Bang Bo.
It collapsed without warning onto an adjacent row of rented rooms. The two injured people stayed in those rooms.
The motorcyclist was killed after leaving a food stall, crushed by the falling crane.
Somtam seller Pennapha Yuyuen, 42, said the man had bought lunch from her stall. Shortly after he left, she heard a loud noise and saw the crane collapse, Daily News reported.
Police held the crane driver, who received a minor arm injury, for questioning and would call in the supervising engineer for interrogation, Pol Capt Chakthong said.
The accident happened about 11.15am.
Police and rescue workers were called to the scene. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital.
