INWOOD, Manhattan (WABC) — At least five workers were injured at a construction site in Inwood after a crane collapse on Tuesday.
The incident was reported at 207th Street and Ninth Avenue around 2:30 p.m.
One of the victims had serious but non-life-threatening injuries while the others were all said to be minor.
The crane itself was on a truck that was parked alongside the construction site and the crane appears to have snapped off at its base.
Dozens of workers were at the site at the time of the collapse.
It is too soon to say if gusty winds played a role in the incident.
Investigators are on the scene and will determine the cause.
Few other details were released.

SOUTHWEST PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A crane’s collapse in the Holey Land Wildlife Management Area required two men to be airlifted as trauma alerts.

Both of the county’s responders are assisting on the mutual aid call with Palm Beach County sending two Trauma Hawk’s to airlift the injured men, who suffered serious injuries, the Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue (BSFR) said.
Both of the victims were either working on or near the crane when it toppled. One of them is being Trauma Hawked to Broward Health North, the BSFR spokesperson said.
No further updates on the individuals’ condition or identities have been provided as of this writing, and it’s still unclear what caused the crane to tip over.

A miscalculation on the load height for an excavator being transported on a flatbed resulted in the rig smashing into a pedestrian overcrossing at Cabrillo College in Aptos Monday.
The California Highway Patrol said on social media at 1:20 p.m. that the crash happened on westbound Soquel Drive just east of Cabrillo College Drive. The posted height at the overcrossing is 15 feet, and the excavator’s arm appeared to have struck it at least a foot above it.
Soquel Drive traverses the campus as well as the communities of Soquel, Live Oak and Aptos. The CHP said it was unknown when the westbound lanes would open and drivers were directed to use northbound Highway 1 and Perimeter Road as an alternate routes.
There were no reports of any injuries.
