Overhead Crane Job Posting – North Adams, MA

H P&I is an established fast-growing power & industrial construction field service support business focused on regional manpower support with power services to power plant outages, specialty construction and industrial firms. Our firm has a national presence with power plants and OEM suppliers.

Seeking crane operator with OVR (Overhead) NCCCO crane certification for outage with Class 3A (Massachusetts Hoisting & Rigging State license). The Overhead Crane Operator must be proficient in operating power plant 300 – 600 T overhead bridge cranes, safety rigging practices and crane maintenance.

FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform daily per-use inspection of equipment being used.
2. Participate in pre-job briefings.
3. Operate crane in a safe manner according to manufactures specifications and guidance of signalman in charge of lifts.
4. Use and properly operate basic rigging equipment/tooling i.e. slings, chokers, cables, come-a-longs, chain falls, shackles, eye bolts, beam clamps, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Verify per-use equipment inspections have been completed prior to crane operation.
2. Follow safe work practices.
3. Assist rigging crew with rigging and hoisting equipment components
4. Climb and work from ladders and scaffolding.
5. Lift minimum of fifty pounds over head.
6. Hydroelectric Power Plant
   1. NCCCO card.
   2. Updated physical
   3. Overhead Crane Certification
   4. Rigger Certification: NCCCO, OVR

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must certify qualifications per plant specific procedures and MA state Hoist and Rigging state license.
   1. Attend refresher training, pass a written examination and a practical operation exam or
   2. Personnel must pass a physical examination including vision and hearing test.
2. Annual site requalification.
3. Must pass background and drug screen testing
